A privacy-focused AI photo editing app is one that tells you plainly what happens to your photos: whether they are used to train models, how long they are kept, and how you delete them. Most AI photo apps process images in the cloud, so the policy matters more than the marketing.
This guide gives you the questions to ask, then answers them for Pose AI using what its published privacy policy actually says.
Read the details in the Pose AI privacy policy.
- Pose AI does not use your personal data to train AI models or create other AI products, and does not sell your biometric data.
- Uploads and the content generated from them are kept while your account is active, until you delete them or your account.
- You can delete a photo, a model, or your whole account in the app; account deletion removes your data after a short automated process.
- Processing follows CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, UK GDPR and PIPEDA, as described in the privacy policy.
Local vs cloud processing
Local processing means the app edits the photo on your own device and the image never leaves it. Cloud processing means the photo is uploaded to a server, edited or generated there, and sent back. Local is the strongest privacy position but is limited to lighter edits; generative features such as new scenes, outfits and video run on large models, so they run in the cloud.
Pose AI is a cloud service: your uploads are processed on Amazon Web Services (USA) infrastructure. That makes the questions below the ones that count: is the photo used to train anything, how long is it kept, and can you remove it?
What to check in any AI photo app's privacy policy
Training: does the company use your photos or face data to train AI models? Retention: how long are uploads and results kept after you stop using the app? Deletion: can you remove individual photos or the whole account yourself? Sharing: which providers touch your data? Law: which privacy regimes does it say it follows?
A clear answer to all five, in plain language, is a better signal than a badge or a slogan.
How Pose AI handles your photos
No training. The privacy policy states that Pose does not use your personal data to train AI models or create other AI products, and does not sell biometric data. The facial geometry extracted during generation is used only to produce the output you asked for and is not kept as a separate record.
Retention. Uploads and generated content are stored together while your account is active, so you can re-run, refine or extend a result later. If a paid subscription ends, content is deleted 90 days afterwards, with an email at least 14 days before anything is removed. Accounts inactive for 90 or more days without a subscription can be auto-deleted, again with 14 days' notice by email.
Deletion. You can delete a single photo or model from the app, or delete your account. Deleting the account deactivates it immediately and starts an automated erasure of your uploads, generated content and personal data. A small set of records, such as billing records the law requires, can survive deletion.
GDPR and other privacy laws
Pose's policy says its processing of personal information is consistent with the CCPA and CPRA, other US state privacy laws, the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR and Canada's PIPEDA. That includes rights to access, correct and delete your data. Read the full terms in the privacy policy rather than relying on a summary, including this one.
Voice features use ElevenLabs as the voice-generation provider, and the policy says voice data is used only to produce the audio you request.
