When you upload a selfie to an AI photo app it is stored somewhere, for some period, until something deletes it. Three details matter: where, how long, and how you trigger deletion.
This lays out Pose AI's answers and what to ask of any other app.
See how Pose AI handles your data.
- Where: Pose AI hosts data on Amazon Web Services (USA) infrastructure.
- How long: Uploads and generated content are kept until you delete them, you delete your account, or a retention schedule applies: 90 days after a paid subscription ends, or for accounts inactive 90+ days without a subscription, with at least 14 days' email notice first.
- Delete: delete your account in the app; associated data is removed from our systems.
- Caveat: some records, such as billing records the law requires, can survive deletion.
Where your data lives
Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services; the policy is direct that no security measures are perfect. Uploaded photos and the content generated from them are stored together, so you can refine a result later.
How long it is kept
Uploads and generated content are kept until you delete them, you delete your account, or a retention schedule applies: 90 days after a paid subscription ends, or for accounts inactive 90+ days without a subscription, with at least 14 days' email notice first. Deleting a single photo or your whole account at any time also ends retention.
Storage checklist
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Where is it hosted? | Determines which law and jurisdiction apply |
| What ends retention? | Subscription end, inactivity, or only your action |
| Is deletion in-app? | Email-only deletion is slower and less certain |
| Anything survive deletion? | Legal records often do |
A clear answer to each is a better trust signal than a general promise.
